When I work with clients, I give them exercises to do at home so that they can get stronger and feel less vulnerable. I check in with each client to see how the exercises have been going. Often I hear that the client didn’t do them, or didn’t do them very much… saying they were lazy. But often this isn’t actually true… its not usually because they are lazy… there are other barriers that need to be overcome. So what are they?

Each person who has tried yoga… has had a different experience with it. Some fall in love. Some hate it. And some could take it or leave it. Really there is no right or wrong here in whether you practice or you don’t. Whether or not you love it or not, yoga has the potential to bring great health benefits… but its also not a requirement for better health. I know… I’m sounding very vague. There are many sources of fatigue. There’s feeling exhausted from constant pain, from the stress of work, the fatigue that accompanies fibromyalgia, lack of good nutrition, from feeling worried or anxious, from being sick, during pregnancy, and the list goes on. Likely if you have had at least one of these sources of fatigue for a while, you are tired of being tired. You want your energy back. You want to do the things you love when you want. If you have just started to experience pain or have had pain for a while, there is one principle you will need to know about to help with this. You will want to know how to work from clarity. Now what does this mean?

When pain comes up, you will need to ask yourself: Am I in any danger of an injury right now? Meaning, is a bone going to break? Am I going to sprain my ankle? Will I get a head injury?
